01 May Feria in Jerez

The Feria in Jerez is dedicated to the horses, the sherry (a translation for Jerez), the fiesta, the flamenco, the colors and the bull fights.

The most beautiful (for me) is the Fiesta of Andalusia, which is held every year during a week beginning of May.

Similar Ferias are also held in other towns, starting with the feria in Seville at end of April.

To avoid being recognized as a tourist, you don‘t necessarily need a horse, but you definitely should get the right dress and also learn to dance the Sevillana beforehand!

Fête de Jerez

La feria de Jerez est dédiée aux chevaux, au sherry (= Jerez), à la fête, au flamenco, aux couleurs et aux combats de taureaux.

C’est pour nous, LA plus belle fête andalouse, qui se tient chaque année, une semaine, au début du mois de mai.

Des fêtes semblables se déroulent dans d’autres villes et commencent avec celle de Séville, fin avril.

Pour ne pas être “fiché” comme touriste, vous ne devez pas nécessairement avoir un cheval mais vous devez être bien habillé et apprendre à danser la Sevillana!

Feria in Jerez

Die Feria in Jerez ist dem Pferd, dem Sherry             (= Übersetzung von Jerez), dem Feiern, dem Flamenco, der Farbenpracht und dem Stierkampf gewidmet. Das wohl schönste Fest in Andalusien findet immer während einer Woche Anfang Mai statt. Ähnliche Feste gibt es in vielen Orten der Umgebung reihum, den Auftakt gibt jedes Jahr Sevilla mit der Feria Ende April.

Um nicht als Tourist erkannt zu werden braucht man nicht unbedingt ein Pferd, aber man sollte sich auf alle Fälle frühzeitig das passende Kleid nähen lassen und die Sevillana tanzen lernen!
