Reconnect – being able to reconnect with what is good for our soul, this is certainly what we will all need after this crazy year of 2020! For that, a stay at the Meerlust Guesthouse is the best medicine! Enjoy the Andalusian life style here, with the picturesque landscape, nature, ocean, waves, wind, sun, miles of pristine beaches, walks in the pine forest, breakfasts in the garden, hikes along the cliffs, whale watching, sports and excursions to the beautiful Andalusian villages, reading hours in the hammock under the olive trees, aperitif by the pool….
Safety First – You can leave this second part mainly to us. We have created the best possible conditions at the Guesthouse to enable you to enjoy a safe stay, including professional disinfection, enough distance and privacy, a good organisation around your stay, and we will also help you with many tips on what to do in the area. We are happy to be here for you!
Normality as we knew it is not quite back yet, but when you are ready to pack your suitcase again, you should know: Meerlust Guesthouse is still here, at the beautiful Costa de la Luz!
Luckily, our area is quite rural and this was certainly one of the reasons why the Covid cases have stayed very low compared to other regions in Spain or Europe. So we have been able to stay open since the first lockdown in spring 2020. However, the government issued strict regulations that have to be observed. That is why some structural adjustments in the guesthouse and some changes in our service concept were necessary at Meerlust, in order to remain open for guests.

Suites with their own kitchen
From 2021 there will only be two suites available at Meerlust, each one with a fully equipped kitchen. Due to Covid, we are no longer allowed to offer our previously very popular breakfast buffet, so we had to make the best of it and redesigned the concept of the guesthouse accordingly. This way, the different areas of life can remain clearly separated, as is newly required by law. In addition to the required safety measures, this new concept offers more independence and also a clear price advantage to our guests. If in the future serving breakfast becomes possible again, we may offer it as an additional service.
Garden and Pool
The outdoor areas with comfortable outdoor furniture, deck chairs, hammocks and the pool area, are still available to our guests without restrictions. Enough space and individual privacy are possible without any problems in the large property of the guesthouse.
Restaurants
Restaurants and bars in our area have been able to remain open since the lockdown in spring 2020. Of course they also must apply the strict Covid regulations. So there is no problem going out and you may even choose your favourite place at the terrace.
